I. n. 1. Anything long, pointed or having a sharp edge and large of its kind (Bnff. 1866 Gregor D. Bnff. 182).

2. A big, stupid person (Ib.), more commonly steutal.

II. v. To go about in a silly stupid manner (Ib.).

[Orig. doubtful. Phs. an altered form of Stoit.]
