I. n. A large pin (Gall. 1824 MacTaggart Gallov. Encycl. 439).

II. v. To prick or stab with a pin. Now arch. Vbl.n. storging, “the noise a pin makes, rushing into flesh” (Ib.).Sc. 1937 Glasgow Herald (7 Aug.) 4:
Neist a storg'd the puir wee smoot Nor speer'd gin it were sair.
