STRATHDON, prop. n. In phr. Strathdon pas, appar. meant to indicate some step in a Highland dance, fig. used in quot. of a sudden getaway, a side-step, "a hop, skip and jump." But the usage is prob. nonce.Sc. 1742 Caled. Mercury (12 July):
