†SUDGE, adj. Also sudges (Cai.). Subject to (Sh. 1814 Abbotsford MS.).
[The form of the word is doubtful. Jam. suggests adaptation of Fr. sujet, subject, but Fr. forms suget, soget, borrowed into Eng. disappear in the 16th c. O.Sc. has sudge, a subject, c.1530.]
