THEWLESS, adj. Without energy or spirit, dull and feeble, insipid (Lth., wm.Sc., Rxb. 1972). More commonly in form Thowless, q.v. [′θjuləs]Per. c.1800 Lady Nairne Songs (Rogers 1905) 213:
