1. To be talkative, to babble on in an inconsequential manner (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl., 1908 Jak. (1928), Sh. 1972). Hence tobin, talkative, prosing, making silly speeches (Sh. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XII. 217).

2. To chide, grumble, carp at (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl., 1908 Jak. (1928), Sh. 1972).
