†TOWDY, n. Also taudy. The buttocks, the posterior (Per., Cld. 1825 Jam.). Comb. taudy-fee, the fine imposed by the church courts for fornication, cf. Buttock-mail s.v. Buttock. [′tʌudi]Abd. 1733 W. Forbes Dominie Depos'd (1765) 40–1:
But yet nor kirk nor consterie, Quo' they, can ask the taudy fee . . . Play, cries the cummer, with a glower, The wanton towdy.
