TYLD, v. Also tyle. To cover, esp. to cover (a window) with a curtain, blind or shutter (Ags. 1910 Arbroath Guide (22 Oct.)). [təild]Ags. 1825 Jam.:
A window is said to be tyldit, when it is covered in the inside with a cloth or curtain.
