TYOMRY, n. Superstition.Per. 1895 in Sc. N. & Q. (Jan. 1924) 14:
There lurked among the people in some corners a slight tincture of superstition or 'Tyomry ' as it is called.

[The word is attested only once and is of uncertain authenticity. It may poss. represent Gael. deamhan, a devil, an evil spirit, + -ry, n.suff.]
