UGG, v. Also ogg (Jak.). intr. To eat a light meal (Sh. 1866 Edm. Gl.); tr. To give someone an extra meal; to give a child a treat of sweets or favourite food; to feed someone well (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)). Vbl.n. uggen, uggin(s), oggins, a light meal, snack, freq. of some delicacy or sweetmeat (Sh. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XII. 217, 1908 Jak. (1928), 1914 Angus Gl.). [ʊg]
