VOGEROUS, adj. Keen, eager; brisk, active, strong, lusty (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928), Sh. 1973). [′vogərəs]Sh. 1892 Manson's Sh. Almanac:
Be-me-sang, der as vogerous follows as eider de or me setin da fit afore dem i da mornin. . . . Some o' wis is no sae vogerous fir umplists o' dis kind.

[Orig. doubtful, phs. formed from Norw. dial. vak, wideawake, early up, brisk, O.N. vakr, watchful, alert. There may have been some influence from Eng. vigorous.]
