1. To splash about in wet. Cf. Swattle, v.1, 1.Lnk. 1893 J. Crawford Sc. Verses 68:
Wee wattlin', waunert, drookit moosie, What gart ye leave yer warm snug hoosie?

2. To imbibe, drink liquor. Cf. Swattle, v.1, 2. (1). Also in Nhb. dial.Bwk. 1823 A. Hewit Poems 129:
I'll learn you quo she to wattle, An' grow sae giddy.
