WEIDINONFA, n. Also wytenonfa. Puerperal fever, a highly febrile condition resulting from infection in childbirth (Ags. 1808 Jam.), also used for any kind of fever. Now in reduced form Weed. n.3, q.v.Abd. 1754 R. Forbes Journal 28:
Guid feggs I wis fley'd that she had taen the wytenon-fa.
Abd. 1832 A. Beattie Poems 127:
The ugsome sight prey'd on her mind, — That brought on her the wytenonfa'.
