YEADIE, prop.n. s.Sc. form of Adie, pet form of Adam (see Suppl.). Hence combs. Yeadie's race, — sons, the human race, mankind. See P.L.D. §97.4.s.Sc. 1793 T. Scott Poems 341, 356:
Just thro' the piece tak Yeadie's race. . . Wha Yeadie's sons wad a fain kiss, Gin they cou'd get 'er.
