I. int. Variant of Aich, Ech, int., as an exclamation of impatience, a grunt or the like. See Y, letter, 2.(2).Sc. 1926 H. M'Diarmid Drunk Man 24:

II. v. To utter the sound above, to grunt with exertion.Abd. 1804 W. Tarras Poems 51:
