†YESTER, prop.n. Used attrib. in Yester plum, a dessert plum grown in the early 18th c. in Scotland, so called from Yester in E. Lothian where it may have been first bred (Sc. 1700 Foulis Acct. Bk. (S.H.S.) 273).
