‡CHAUKIT, ppl.adj. Used of shoes that have become loose on the feet through wear. A ne.Sc. form of jaukit (see Jauk). For interchange of initial [tʃ] and [dȝ], cf. Channer, v., and Janner.Bch. 1928 (per Abd.15):
That sheen's growen sad chaukit.
