CLAW-SCRUNT, n. comb. A tree (stump) used by cattle to rub themselves against (Gall. 1824 MacTaggart Gallov. Encycl. 126). Cf. Clawin Post. MacTaggart's syllable division (claws-crunts) is corrected by Curriehill. Not known to our correspondents.
