1. v. To cough huskily. Found only as ppl.adj. and vbl.n. (S.D.D.).Gsw. 1863 J. Young Ingle Nook 15:

2. n. “A kind of subdued cough, as of one afflicted with asthma” (Kcb.4 c.1900, cruchle).
