FEUACH, n. Also feuich, fewich. A very short, light crop of grain or grass (Bnff. 1866 Gregor D. Bnff., feuach; Bnff.2, Abd.27 1946). Humorously, of thin, sparse hair (Mry.1 1916). Adj. feuichy, sparse, spindly, pithless, of crops. [′fjuəç]ne.Sc. 1909 in G. Greig Folk-Song xlix.:
Oh Bogie's howes are cauld and bare, There grows nae girse but feuich there.Abd. 1920 A. Robb MS.:
The crap a' grew on the crown o' the rig there bein' little bit fewich fan ye cam the wye o' the furs.Bnff.2 1928:
