‡GERBICK, n. Also gerdbalk, gard-, gord-, -bolk (Jak.), gorba(c)k. A ridge of earth thrown up to mark the boundary between two patches of arable land, prob. orig. the demarcation line between different properties (Ork. 1825 Jam., gorback; Sh. 1866 Edm.
