GREFSTER, n. Also graefster. An unusually low ebb-tide; the stretch of foreshore exposed by it (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)). Cf. Grimster.Sh. 1898 Shetland News (10 Sept.):
We needna care, fur he was a graefster o' a ebb aboot da shore.
