HAG, v.3 To fatigue, weary; tire out. Common in Eng. dial., but found in Sc. only as ppl.adj. haggit, weary (Slg., m.Lth. 1956).Mry. 1806 R. Jamieson Ballads I. 235:
Wi' haggit ee, and haw as death, The auld spae-man did stand.

[Orig. St. Eng. of somewhat uncertain orig. Phs. from hag, v., to torment as a hag or sorceress does, with influence from haggard.]
