I. adv. With a limp, lamely. Also reduplic. form hippetty-happetty (Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B.). Hence combs.: hippity clinch, adv., with a limp, adj., limping, n., a lame person (Bwk. 1957); hippity-h(a)incher, a lame person (w. and s.Sc. 1887 Jam.). See Hainch, v., 2.
