†HUGGIE, n. Also hogg(i), hugg(i) (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)). A tap, a blow (Sh. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XII. 109). Now only in phrs. (1) to get hoggi, — huggi, to be chastised (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928)); (2) to play hogg(i), — hugg(i), to play the game of “tig” (Ib.).
