ILL-OOR, int. Also ill hoor. Used as an exclamation of sorrow or as a curse, woe! alas! (Ork. 1958). Cf. Aloor, id. and guid oor s.v. Oor. [ɪ′lu:r]Ork. 1880 Dennison Sketch-Bk. 24:
An', ill hoor! gin sheu fell no'; an' her side teuk up on the wale o' the boat.
Ork. 1929 Marw.:
“Ill-oor apae thee,” i.e. a malison on you! “ill-oor, ill-oor,” alas, alas.
