KAULIK, n. Also kjolek, kjoli (Jak.). A thin, stirred mass, as of gruel (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928), Sh. 1959). Comb.: blaandie-kaulik, blandi-kjolek, a thin gruel made of oatmeal and Bland (Ib.). [′kjo:lək]Sh. 1898 J. Spence Folk-Lore 177:
The blaandie-kaulik and the swatsi-swaarik did duty instead of the golden tips of Ceylon.
