LOGGER, v. Also lo(a)cher (Cld. 1825 Jam.). To drench with moisture, to soak, to bespatter, to make muddy (Rs. 1919 T.S.D.C., loacher); to eat noisily any soft hot food, to slobber (Fif. c.1850 R. Peattie MS., locher). Ppl.adj. loggering, drenched (Dmf. 1825 Jam.).
[Appar. a rounded variant of Lagger, q.v. but some of the usages may be simply onomat. Cf. Slocher, Slogger.]
