NOOZLE, n.² One of a row of cords attaching the mesh-work to the headrope of a fishing-net, a norsel (Cai., Fif. 1964). Now only tech. in Eng. See also Osel.Bwk. 1906 D. M'Iver Eyemouth 198:
When a net is being prepared for use it . . . has to be suspended to a long rope by so many “noozles”, or small pieces of twine which are tied to the rope by means of nooses.
