1. A trick, stratagem, practical joke (Dmf. a.1838 Jam. MSS. X. 245, plisket).Bnff. 1895 Banffshire Jnl. (15 Jan.) 6:

2. A tricky situation, plight, difficulty.Dmf. 1830 W. Bennet Traits Sc. Life III. 212:
