UNHONEST, adj. Also oonhonest (Sh.). Dishonest (Abd. 1825 Jam.; Sh., Kcd., Lnk., Wgt. 1973). Now only arch. or dial. in Eng. Hence unhonesty, n., absence or lack of honesty. See Honest, adj., Honesty, n.Abd. 1871 W. Alexander Johnny Gibb viii.:
I sudna won'er nor she's stown as muckle o' the parlour breid till hersel'. Sic creaturs wi' oonhonesty.
Sh. 1897 Shetland News (31 July):
Wid doo say 'at A'm come bi my twartree craturs o' sheep in a unhonest wye?
