YACHIS, n., v. Also yaghies; yechi(e)s. [′jɑxez. ′jeçɪs]

I. n. The noise produced by a dull blow or fall, a thump, thud, whack, a grunt (Abd. 1911 Abd. Weekly Jnl. (20 Jan.), Abd. 1950).Mry. 1806 J. Cock Simple Strains 18:
