Birst, Byrst, v. Also: byrste; p.t. and p.p. birst, byrst, birstit, byrstyt; p.p. birstin, birsyn. [Variant of Brist v., with transposition of r as in ME. berste(n, OE. berstan. Cf. also Burst v.]
