Jacinct, Jasink, n. Also: iacynct, iacinth, iacinte, iacent; iassink. [ME. and e.m.E. iacynct, -inct (c 12030), -ynte (14th c.), e.m.E. iacinthe (1555), OF. iacin(c)te, jacinthe, late L. iacin(c)tus, iacinthus.] A jacinth or hyacinth, the gem. Also attrib. and comb. with ring, stane and -hewit.(a) 1533 Boece xi. xii. 430.
