Lording, n. Also: -yng. [ME. (13th c.) and e.m.E. lording, -yng, early loverding, laverding, laferrdinng (Orm), OE. hláfording.] Only in plur. : Lords, noblemen, gentlemen. a. Commonly as a mode of address. = Lord n. 32 b, c. b. In general use. = Lord n. 6.Chiefly early and chiefly in verse.a. 1375 Barb. i. 445.
