Moigne, Moyne, n. [F. moine monk.] Moigne of the sey, the monk-fish, a kind of shark or dog-fish with a broad, flat head. — 1494 Loutfut MS. 34 a.
The moigne [Lindsay MS. moyne] of the sey is a monstre quhilk has the first part of his body lik to the figour humane bot that his nes partis nocht fra his mouth
