(? latterly chiefly north.) miderede, mydrede, -red, north. e.m.E. midridde, OE. midhriðe, midhridir, OFris. midhridri, midrede, etc. Also in the later Sc. and north. Eng. dialects.] The diaphragm or midriff. a. Of a person. b. Of an animal, as used for food.a. a1500 Henr. Orph. 298 (Ch. & M.).
