Novodamus. Also: de novodamus. [L. (de) novo damus we grant anew, occurring in the preamble of a charter of this sort.] The formal renewal (with or without alterations) by a feudal superior of a former grant; a statement to this effect in a charter renewing a grant in this way; charter, or gift, of novodamus, such a charter.Only as a term of Sc. law; see SND, s.v.
