Petti-, Peticote, -coit, n. Also: petty-, pety-, pettie-, pette-, pete-, peteye-; pitte-, pitti(e)-, pitty-, piti-, pity- and -cot(t, -coitt, -coytht, -coat(t, -coate; peitticoit, peittiecothe, -kothe; peitikot(t; peatticotte; patycoit. [Late ME. and e.m.E. pety coote (Lydgate), petycote (Prompt.
