Quod, p.t. Also: qwod, qod, quhod, (qoud), qod, qd, qd, qȝ, q. [ME quod (14th c.), also quot, cod, earlier quad (c 1250), cf. Quoth p.t.The regular form in Sc. In late 15th and 16th c. MSS much the commonest for is a MS abbreviation (a special form of the letter q) also used for Latin quod, here represented by q and cited in (b) below. A type appar. intended as the same abbreviated form is also used in the tenth Chepman & Myllar tract.]
