Ringill-eit, ppl. adj. Also: ringell-, -le- and -eyit, -ed. [The second element is f. Ee n. With the first, cf. e.m.E. rengell (a1490) a metal ring, ryngle (1531), Germ. and Swed. ringel. Also in the later and mod. Sc. dials. = having a wall-eye, also (later), having a ring of white hair round the eye.] a. Wall-eyed. b. ? Having a ring of (? white) hair round the eye. Cf.
