Viridarij, -deer, n. [ME and e.m.E. virydaries pl. (?14th c.), viridary (1600), viridarie (1657), med. L. viridarius.] An official appointed to look after the royal forests. = Verter n. — 1597 Skene Verb. S. s.v. Verd (see Vert n. 1 b).

Gif he be found the third time with grene wode, he sall be presented to the virideer (the keiper of the grene wode and grasse) in the chief place of the keiping of the wode, and sall be put vnder aucht pledges
