Wanto(u)n, -to(u)ne, adj. Also: vanto(u)ne, wantown, -ten. Compar. wantoner. [ME and e.m.E. wantun (Cursor M.), wantoun (1362), wantowne (Chaucer), wanton (c1400).]There may be some overlap between the senses.
