Bond, n.1 Also: bonde, bownd, boynd. [ME. bond, bonde, bownde, OE. bonda (bunda), ON. bónde, búande householder, etc.] A peasant or serf; a bondman.The Latin pl. bondi occurs in 1264 in Exch. R. I. 8 and later. 14.. Acts I. 327/2.
