Catif(f, Cative, n. and a. Also: catife, -yf(e, -efe, -eif, caytif; catvve, cateve, catewe, katyve. [ME. caitif, caytif, caitive, etc. (c 1300), ONF. caitif, -ive (L. captivus).]
