Chalmer, n. Also: chalmar(e, -ere, -eir, -ir(e, -yr, -our; chaly-, challmer, chalmmir; chalmber. [Later spelling of chaumer Chawmer, with usual Sc. substitution of al for aw. The common form after 1500.]
