Chekker, Chakker, n. Also: chekkere, -ar(e, -ir, chekar(e, -er, checker, chekquer, checquare, cheaker, cheiker, cheequer, chikker; chakkere (jakkere), -ir, chak(k)ar, cha(l)ker, chaikker, chacker, chacquer. [ME. chekkere, chekere, cheker (c 1314), etc., reduced form of ME. and AF. escheker.]
