Ilkone, quasi-adj., (pron.). Also: ilk on(e. [Midl. ME. ylkone, ilkon(e, etc., adopted under the influence of English verse, in place, of Sc. Ilkane. Cf. Ichone and Echon(e.] 1. quasi-adj. = Ilkane 1 b (1). 2. pron. = Ilkane 1 c.Only in verse, and chiefly in rhyme. Very common in Stewart.(1) c1400 Troy-bk. ii. 1432 (D).
