Maner place, n. Also: manere, -(e)ir, -o(u)r, -ure, manner, -or and plaice, plas(se. [Maner n.2; Place n. Also e.m.E. manour place (1509).] A country residence, a mansion; chiefly, the principal dwelling-house of an estate with its immediately attached outbuildings and land, a manor. = Maner n.2 1392 Slater Early Sc.
