Mene time, Mein time, n. Also: men, menne, meine, meyn(e, mean(e, ma(y)n(e, min, myn and tym(e, thyme, teyme, taym. [ME. mene time (1340), mene, meen tyme, e.m.E. mean(e time, tyme: see Mene a.2 3 (and cf. Mene quhile).]Variously written as one or two words.
1. In (into) the mene time, in this or that mene time, in mene time, for the (that) mene time: during the intervening period, in the interim; during this time, meantime, meanwhile; for the time being.(1) 1388 Slater Early Sc. Texts. No. 12.
